Mondovi High Legends Jess Cole and Tim Krumrie to Retire Jerseys
Historic Double-Retirement Ceremony Honors Two Mustang Greats
Mondovi High School will honor two of its all-time greatest athletes, Jess Cole and Tim Krumrie, by retiring their jerseys in a special ceremony on Friday, September 15.
Jess Cole: A Mustang Basketball Legend
- Averaged 25 points per game as a senior
- Led Mondovi to three straight state tournament appearances
- Named Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Year in 1980
Cole went on to play at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was a two-time All-Big Ten selection and helped the Badgers reach the Final Four in 1982.
Tim Krumrie: A Multi-Sport Star
- Lettered in football, basketball, and baseball
- All-state selection in football and basketball
- Drafted by the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals in 1983
Krumrie was a standout defensive end for the Bengals, starting in Super Bowl XXIII. He finished his NFL career with 15 sacks and 6 interceptions.
The jersey retirement ceremony will take place at halftime of the Mondovi football game against Alma Center Lincoln. Both Cole and Krumrie will be on hand to accept the honor.
Mondovi High School is proud to recognize these two outstanding athletes for their contributions to Mustang athletics. Their jerseys will hang in the school's gymnasium as a reminder of their accomplishments and the impact they have had on the Mondovi community.
