PSV mulling over Karsdorp move after reported change of heart
Eredivisie giants previously not interested in former Feyenoord full-back
29-year-old has been linked with a return to the Netherlands
PSV Eindhoven are reportedly considering a move for former Feyenoord defender Rick Karsdorp, despite previously showing no interest in the player. The 29-year-old has been linked with a return to the Netherlands in recent weeks, with PSV now said to be among the clubs interested in his services.
Karsdorp left Feyenoord for Roma in 2017, but has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter in the Italian capital. He has been linked with a move away from Roma for some time, and PSV are now said to be considering a move for the full-back.
PSV were previously not interested in signing Karsdorp, but it is believed that they have had a change of heart following the departure of Denzel Dumfries to Inter Milan. The Eredivisie champions are in need of a new right-back, and Karsdorp is seen as a potential option.
Karsdorp has 3 caps for the Netherlands, and has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past. He is a versatile defender who can play at right-back or left-back, and would add experience and quality to the PSV squad.
It remains to be seen whether PSV will make a formal offer for Karsdorp, but the Eredivisie champions are certainly interested in signing the defender. If a deal can be agreed, Karsdorp would become PSV's second signing of the summer, following the arrival of Luuk de Jong from Sevilla.
