Junto Nakatani To Headline Two-Day Fight Festival In Tokyo
Seven World Title Fights Over Two Days In Japan
Tokyo's Ariake Arena will host an extravaganza of seven title fights over two days, October 13-14. The event will feature three world title fights on each day, headlined by Junto Nakatani's WBC bantamweight title defense against Takuma Inoue.
Nakatani-Inoue Headlines Unbeaten Bantamweight Clash
Nakatani is unbeaten in 23 professional fights, with 18 knockouts. He won the WBC bantamweight title in 2021 and has successfully defended it once. Inoue is also unbeaten, with a record of 17-0, 14 KOs. He is the younger brother of Naoya Inoue, the reigning undisputed bantamweight champion.
The Nakatani-Inoue fight is expected to be a close and competitive contest. Both fighters are skilled boxers with heavy hands. Nakatani is the more experienced fighter, but Inoue is the younger and hungrier fighter.
Other World Title Fights On The Card
In addition to the Nakatani-Inoue fight, the card also features two other world title fights:
- WBO flyweight champion Anthony Olascuaga (28-4, 21 KOs) vs. Puerto Rican Jonathan Gonzalez (25-3-1, 14 KOs)
- WBC light flyweight champion Kosei Tanaka (15-0, 9 KOs) vs. Filipino Melvin Jerusalem (19-2, 11 KOs)
These fights are all expected to be competitive and exciting. Olascuaga is a veteran champion, but Gonzalez is a rising star. Tanaka is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, but Jerusalem is a tough challenger.
