Victoria Atkins was born in London in 1973. She was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of three. Atkins was privately educated at Arnold School, a co-educational school in Blackpool.

Atkins studied law at the University of Birmingham and qualified as a barrister in 1996. She worked as a commercial lawyer before entering politics.

Atkins was elected as the Conservative MP for Louth and Horncastle in 2015. She is the first female Conservative MP to represent the constituency.

Atkins is a member of the House of Commons Health and Social Care Select Committee. She is also the Vice Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Diabetes.

Atkins is married to Paul Kenward, the managing director of British Sugar. They have two children.
